Greenvolt Next are looking for an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team. This role will focus on designing systems ranging from commercial-scale projects (200 kW) up to large utility-scale solar farms. You'll be responsible for producing high-quality designs, drawings, and documentation through both the pre-construction and construction phases.
Requirements
Key Accountabilities
- Develop the AC designs for projects from hundreds of kW to MWs.
- Complete G99 applications and interact with DNOs to secure connection agreements. Produce electrical schematics and detailed layout drawings on autocad LT
- Work closely with Engineers and project teams to ensure designs comply with both Client technical and regulatory requirements
- Carry out site surveys as required and develop electrical system designs based on survey findings
- Prepare documentation and drawings for planning construction and O&M manuals
- Collaborate with EPC teams, suppliers, and clients during project development and delivery
- Interact with external consultants to ensure design submissions are delivered within acceptable time frames and of suitable technical detail
- Undertake protection studies to ensure correct discrimination.

Technical Support:
- Support the Sales team to undertake site surveys establishing the best electrical integration methodology into existing / new switchboards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the installation team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the installation process.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in designing AC systems at commercial and ideally utility scale
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
- HND/Degree level in an Electrical discipline or similar field
- Ability to produce accurate schematics and layout drawings
- Good understanding of UK l electrical standards and grid connection requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
