About the role
As a Design Engineer, you will take ownership of detailed structural design aligned with project programmes, collaborating closely with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration across the project team. You will contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial developments, mixed-use schemes, and data centres.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct structural surveys and desk studies, providing initial technical advicePrepare conceptual and outline designs with support from senior team membersDevelop detailed design calculations in accordance with Eurocodes and relevant guidanceUse 3D software packages to produce accurate structural modelsPrepare detailed design drawings and specifications for tender and constructionRespond to client queries and requests for informationSupport the production of construction documentation for contractorsAttend site visits during construction to monitor progress and provide technical inputCollaborate with internal disciplines and attend coordination meetingsProvide day-to-day support to colleagues across the officeParticipate in internal and external team meetingsGradually assume greater responsibility and autonomy as professional skills developWhat we are looking for?
A degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a strong interest in structural designIdeally working towards chartership with the IStructE or ICE, or already Chartered/IncorporatedDemonstrated experience and competency in structural designFlexibility and initiative to rise to challenging situationsAbility to take on responsibility appropriate to capabilityFamiliarity with Eurocodes and relevant design guidanceProficiency in 3D structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Revit, Robot, etc.)What we offer you:
