Overview
We are seeking an
Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join a forward-thinking building services consultancy known for delivering innovative and sustainable electrical design solutions. This role offers exposure to a wide range of projects across commercial, residential, education, and healthcare sectors, with strong support for professional development and progression toward chartership.
The
Intermediate Electrical Engineer will work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to technically challenging projects while building expertise under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarms, data/communications, and security
- Produce accurate design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and tender documentation in line with UK standards
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions
- Participate in site surveys, liaising with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, BS 7671, and CIBSE guidance
- Contribute to technical documentation and project submissions
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, sustainable design practices, and industry regulations
Candidate Profile
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- 2–5 years’ experience in building services design, either in consultancy or contracting
- Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is desirable
- Solid understanding of UK wiring regulations, sustainability principles, and best practice
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ambitious, motivated, and committed to professional development toward chartership
