Structural Design Engineer - Aerospace

What will you be doing? 

We are looking for a Structural Design Engineer with strong experience in both metallic and composite structures to support major aerospace programmes. You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary environment, contributing to the design and integration of complex structural components used in actuation systems.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design of structural components such as brackets, hinge fittings, spars and related actuation-system hardware.
• Integration of structural designs within wider system architectures.
• Application of DFM/DFA principles to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.
• Creation, modification and review of 3D models and engineering data using 3DX.
• Support of stress, manufacturing, and systems teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Preparation of technical documentation and design justification where required.

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

• Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with metallic and composite structural design.
• Background in designing components for actuation systems or similar aerospace sub-assemblies.
• Good understanding of system integration principles.
• Proficiency with 3DX (or equivalent high-level CAD tools used in major aerospace programmes).
• Experience working within a large aerospace OEM or Tier 1 environment.
• Knowledge of certification processes; signatory-level exposure is a plus.
