About the role

This ‘Good’ Secondary SEND school, based in North Shields is looking to appoint a passionate Learning Support Mentor to work in Key Stage 3 and 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this Secondary SEND school as part of an established team, the desired Learning Support Mentor will be working with a range of pupils on a small class size and 1-to-1 basis with SEND including Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties. This full time Learning Support Mentor role is long term from September ongoing.

As a Learning Support Mentor you will:

● Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.

● Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities

● Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.

● Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom.

● Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
