Job Summary:The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design and development of all piece parts, jigs and fixtures for optical sub-assemblies and photonics integrated circuits. This design activity builds on the core semiconductor products developed within Semtech to enable sub-assemblies containing passive and active optical components.Responsibilities:Design and development of all mechanical piece parts and assemblies for Photonics Integrated Circuits (PIC) products in development.Precision machined components, submicron tolerancing.Material selection, polymer, glass, ceramic epoxy and metals.Tool design and process flow.Thermal and stress analysis of optical sub-assemblies.Material specification, Identifying suitable manufacturers to meet with design specification and cost targetsExpert in the use of Solidworks, Pro/Engineer or equivalent mechanical design tools.Interface to sub-contract and component manufacturers.Qualifications:Minimum of BSc in Mechanical...
